Not a Rider Yet
Musafir, my first bike, a one-kilometre ride to the petrol pump, and a ferry I nearly missed.
For many years I wanted a bike of my own. Money was tight and there were family responsibilities, so I kept putting it off. In July 2025 I finally bought one. It is one of the happiest days I can remember.
I was not a rider that day. I rode exactly one kilometre, from the showroom to the petrol pump, and then someone else rode it home.
I named her Musafir, which means traveller.
My first proper long ride came in October 2025, to Alibag, with friends. The part I remember is the ferry back from Mandwa to Mumbai. We were about to miss it, and I rode faster than I ever had. Both bikes rolled onto the port five minutes before the ferry left.
